Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial of Starter. A card is required up front, nothing is charged during the trial, and the subscription converts automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel first. Choosing Pro or Scale at signup starts a paid subscription immediately, without a trial.
The Free plan is closed to new signups. Accounts that were already on Free keep it with unchanged limits (2 connections, 10 automations, 100 step credits, 2,500 AI credits, 5 email templates, 5 invoice templates, 1 Google account, 1 SMTP account, no forwarding addresses, and daily/weekly/monthly schedules).
Connections
A connection is a saved API credential for one external tracking platform. Each live platform account counts as one connection.
- The Demo connection does not count toward the limit
- Connections can be reused across all your automations
- Deleting a connection frees up the slot
Automations
Any saved automation — enabled or disabled — counts toward the limit. Deleting an automation frees up the slot.
Step Credits
Each time an automation runs, every step in its workflow consumes one step credit. The counter resets at the start of each billing period.
Gmail SMTP Accounts
The number of Gmail accounts you can connect simultaneously. All accounts are available as "Send From" options in any Send Email step.
Forwarding Addresses
Forwarding addresses (e.g. auto-7gk2p9xr@inbox.affzero.com) used by the Email Received trigger. Each address can be shared across multiple automations. Manage them in Providers → Email Forwarding.

AI Credits
AI credits are token-weighted — a longer prompt or a bigger data set costs more than a short one. They're consumed by:
- AI Analyze step
- AI Extract step
- Generate Invoice Number step
- Describe It (generating an automation from a description)
- Generate with AI buttons in the email/invoice editor
- AffZero AI chatbot
Credits reset at the start of each billing period. Settings → Billing lists the typical cost of each action.

Viewing Your Usage
Go to Settings → Usage to see:
- Connections used vs. limit
- Automations used vs. limit
- Step credits used this period vs. limit
- AI credits used this period vs. limit
Upgrading, Downgrading, and Cancelling
Go to Settings → Billing and use Manage billing to change your plan, update your card, or cancel. Billing is handled by Paddle, our payment provider and Merchant of Record.
- Upgrades take effect immediately — new limits apply right away
- Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period
- Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep full access until then, and Settings → Billing shows the exact date
If you downgrade and your current usage exceeds the new plan's limits (e.g. you have 30 connections on Pro and downgrade to Starter which allows 10), existing resources are not deleted — but automations may fail to run until you bring your usage within the new limits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I have multiple users on one account? Yes — Pro includes 3 team members and Scale includes 10. Starter is single-user. Invite teammates from Settings → Team.
Do unused AI credits roll over to the next period? No — AI credits reset at the start of each billing period and do not accumulate.
What happens if I hit my automation limit? You can still edit existing automations, but you won't be able to create new ones until you delete an existing one or upgrade your plan.
Is there an annual discount? Yes — paying yearly is roughly 20% cheaper per month on every plan. Pick the yearly cycle at checkout.
What happens when my trial ends? Your card is charged for the Starter plan and the subscription continues. Cancel any time before the trial ends in Settings → Billing and you won't be charged.
